OCTOMUM VS ONE-child POLICY..

I placed my post-it note closer towards china one-child policy because I think that at one point if a person has to many babies and not enough money to support them then as help to the mother, the goverment should step in and give the mother advice and education. But I do not agree that there are punishments like fining and job loss if you have more than one baby. I think families should be able to decide how many babies they want but not too many.

China's One-Child policy, Benifets and Disadvantages.

For Homework last night we had to read an article about china's one child per family policy. The article talked about why the policy is needed and how the chinese feel about it, as well as all the cultural side effects to this policy. The biggest thing in the article was how the chinese culture favours sons and so lots of chinese people are doing legal and ilegal things to try and have their first and only child a boy. A side effect of that is that all of the single children, usually boys, are getting spoilt and overweight. People predict that by the year 2020 there will be 30 million men without a lady. If you think "why don't they just stop the policy" then the argument would be that then the chinese people might have another baby boom, which is why they put the policy there in the first place. What we had to do in class today was discuss this policy.

SONNET 7 -WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

After doing the music performance my group did today and listening to my groups thoughts on what the sonnet 7 meant we all ended up thinking it was the sun after a lot of looking and reading very carefully. When we first read the sonnet 7 yesterday I had thought that it was about some sort of king praying or something but after talking to Fabian about it after school he thought it was the sun and I could look at the poem more clearly. Now I think that the sonnet is about the sun's journey through the skies.

Ancient and Modern places, Difference?

Todays lesson was about our groups looking at a google earth movie. The movie showed Mesopatamia on a map and a map of now places. The objective was to write down "see, think, wonder" observation sheet about what we saw, thought and wondered about the video.

Why do Civilizations have laws?

Civilizations have laws because if laws or rules were non existent and anyone could do whatever they wanted the world would be in chaos. Anyone would be able to kill anyone, they could steal from other people, little kids could be drinking beer and taking drugs, people could injure eachother, people could build whatever they want and drivers wouldn't have to have a driver's liscence, they could get drunk and crash and they could speed and go through red lights. Though i also think laws should not be to strict, like Hammurabi's code, like if you hit your father your hand would be cut off, or probably people would just riot and still cause chaos. I thought tghat Hammurabi's code was not very fair, although i see reasoning in his laws.

Farming is Crucial to Civilization!

After I watched the movie I thought that farming was one of the most important things toward building a civilization because without farming and growing your own crops you have to devote lots of time into gathering from fruit or tracking down prey and killing it with a bow and arrow. But with farming you do not have to go far to collect your food and further on if you control a herd of sheep or goats, you would be able to kill it, get milk from it and plow your crops with them. Then when your not wasting as much time, you can decorate your house or make steel to help crpos or weapons.
